Our pregnancy yoga classes have been really popular - seems like there aren't enough in Christchurch and while there is certainly more and more demand, keeping classes small makes it cosy, and more importantly, safe.
Yoga is perfect for staying healthy during and after pregnancy and it can help women get through their pregnancy more easily. Many people find not only the stretching and strengthening helpful, but also the breathing exercises (pranayamas). These can be very helpful during labor. Mums who do yoga can be stronger and more flexible, which makes different postures more easy while in labour. yoga exercises also promote healthy circulation and can reduce oedema (fluid retention). |
